Golden Thread: Community Day of Dreaming / June 2026 | Visual Anchor - Co-created with Frankie Castanea

Cards: The Emperor, Two of Baskets, Ten of Coins (Black Tarot); Wisdom, The Soul (Elemental Alchemist Oracle); Ancestor Money: Harriet Tubman, Blockbuster; Plant Medicine: Boneset, Hops, Hobble Bush / Devil's Shoestring, Azalea, May Pop, Wild Cherry (Dirt Gem Oracle / Southern Botanical Oracle); Phases of Decolonization: Rediscovery and Recovery through Commitment.

The piece is wide format. The background is a deep forest green textured surface. White spider webs spread across the entire background in delicate lines, connecting everything. Gold thread winds through the entire composition in loose curving lines, weaving between all the elements. Multiple vintage photographs of people sewing, weaving, and making things with their hands are arranged across the composition, diverse in culture, era, and geography, Black women at sewing machines, a woman washing hands in a bowl, people at traditional looms, a mother and child at a sewing machine, people working with fabric and thread across many different traditions. A fox sits in the upper left. A snake moves along the lower left. Two alligators appear in the center. A large orb weaver spider with vivid orange and black markings sits on the right. A wolf appears in the lower right. A dream catcher or circular woven object hangs in the upper right corner. A cowrie shell hangs in the center upper area. A blue diamond or tile shape sits in the upper center left. Rice, cinnamon sticks, and lentils are scattered across the lower portion of the piece, communal symbols of abundance woven into the composition.

The reading relayed that this gathering was centered in the communal act of making, protecting, and remembering together, and in asking people to redefine for themselves what protection, abundance, and justice actually look like in the body, in the neighborhood, and in the collective. The Emperor asked what kind of leader each person is and how they honor their power in right relationship. The Two of Baskets asked people to practice true partnership and vulnerability, to see what becomes possible when things are built together rather than alone. The Ten of Coins asked people to sit with what generational wealth actually means when it extends beyond finances into community, care, and legacy. Harriet Tubman held the medicine of the full circle, of ground level work and collective care extending in all directions. The spider web holds everything. The gold thread runs through all of it. The wolf, the fox, the snake, and the alligator are all present as protectors of the space.
