This June, you are invited to re-imagine ideas of rituals of communal protection, re-imagining of abundance, creative collaboration, and justice/justified work as a practice grounded in everyday needs. We are rooting into rediscovering and reconnection, re-meeting our ancestral symbolism and guides through somatic prompts, and tapping deep into the spirit of our Ancestral weavers and creators. We invite you to practice with play and creation as a form of soul-remembering and healing, supported by plant allies, fellow participants, and your facilitators.
This Day of Dreaming calls us in to imagination, definition, and Ancestral rediscovery, rooted in the ideas that;
Protection is communal.
Abundance is cooperative.
Justice is embodied.
We are guided heavily in this workshop by Ancestral spirits and Nonnas who met together in sewing circles and spaces to share information, learn together, and craft together - pulling in the spirits of those who knit messages, sewed Ancestral symbolism into fabric, and weaving maps of freedom into hair.
We will be calling soul-remembering and play as healing through somatics, plant ally work, communal food sharing, and meeting with the spirit of thread-and-needle, we will weave community and liberation into all aspects of this gathering and its creative process.
What This Day Is For
This day is for people who feel the quiet (or loud) call to:
• Explore and expand their own definitions of protection, abundance, and justice
• Reconnect with ancestral creative practices through needle, thread, and symbol
• Experience creative collaboration as a practice of mutuality and care
• Play, make, and imagine alongside a small, intentional community
• Tap into the spirit of ancestral weavers, crafters, and makers who held one another
You do not need to know how to sew. You do not need to arrive with answers. You need only your presence and your willingness to explore.
Who This Day Is For
Those who are ready to play with and ask the hard questions in a small, intentional group
Those who are seeking a way to expand, create, and explore symbolism around communal protection, abundance, and justice
Those who are seeking a space to explore creative Ancestral practices, symbolism, and community-based crafting
Those who wish to reconnect with the ancestral weavers, creators, and trailblazers
What We’ll Be Doing
We open together with facilitated smoke cleansing, a plant-based ceremonial handwash, and tea.
We move into somatic-based journaling and discussion guided by a custom sound bath recording, exploring our personal and communal definitions of protection, abundance, and justice.
We create together through symbol-based embroidery and punch needle work, crafting Ancestral imagery around one of our three guiding themes in dyad and small group collaboration. We also co-create reimagined “Ancestor money,” communal abundance embodied in material form.
We close with tea, a final discussion, and an invitation to carry this work home.
What You’ll Leave With
A piece of stitchwork or embroidery cultivated in community, redefining one of our three themes, to continue working on at home
A digital copy of the custom Christina Ifurung soundbath recording used during our gathering
What You’ll Recieve After The Event
A custom personal soundbath track by Christina Ifurung created just for you to support integration
A bespoke divined collage by Nyasha Williams, mailed to you after the event.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this for?
This gathering is for people who feel called to reconnect with themselves, their ancestry, and their community through creative practice, especially if you’re craving:
• Exploration of what protection, abundance, and justice mean to you, in your own body and lineage
• A hands-on, embodied creative experience rooted in ancestral traditions
• Intimate, intentional community that moves slowly and thoughtfully
• A space to make things with your hands alongside people who care
You do not need prior experience with sewing, embroidery, or any craft. There is no expertise required here.
Who is this not for?
This may not be the right fit if:
• You’re looking for a traditional class or step-by-step instruction in a specific craft skill
• You prefer highly structured, outcome-driven environments
• You’re not open to facilitated reflection, embodied practice, or trying something unfamiliar
• You’re seeking therapy or crisis support (this is a creative gathering, not a clinical space)
How many people will be there?
This is an intimate gathering. The small size is intentional and central to the experience. Fifteen people maximum.
How long is the gathering?
Please plan for 6 to 6.5 hours, including meals and breaks. We’ll move at a human pace.
Where will this take place?
The exact location will be shared privately with registered participants 1 to 2 weeks before the event. This is an intentionally chosen, held space. The delayed reveal helps protect the container.
Do I need to know how to sew or embroider?
No. This is not a technique class. We will work with needle and thread as ancestral and symbolic practice. You will be guided. Curiosity and openness are the only prerequisites.
What will we actually be doing?
You’ll move through smoke cleansing, ceremonial handwash, tea, somatic journaling with a sound bath, communal meals, symbol-based embroidery and punch needle work in small groups, and a collective abundance craft. Each activity flows into the next with care and intention.
Is food provided?
Yes. A communal breakfast and lunch are provided as part of the gathering.
What should I bring?
You’ll receive a detailed note closer to the event, but generally:
• Comfortable clothes you can create and move in
• A water bottle
• Anything that helps you feel grounded (a journal, a small personal object, layers)
All core creative materials will be provided.
Is this a spiritual or religious event?
The Dreaming Table is rooted in Ancestral remembrance, decolonization, and creative liberation, but this is not a religious service. Participants of varied backgrounds and belief systems are welcome, as long as they come with respect and openness.
Accessibility
We are committed to creating a space rooted in care. Specific accessibility details will be shared once the location is confirmed. If you have access needs or questions, you are warmly invited to reach out before registering so we can discern together whether this gathering is a good fit.
Can I attend if I’m nervous about being in community?
Yes. Many people arrive feeling tender, unsure, or uncertain. You are not expected to share more than you want to. Listening and being present are valid forms of participation.
